MGT101 Introduction to Management
Unit Description
This unit provides students with an introduction to various theories of management that underpin contemporary management practices in the public, private and not-for profit sectors. The unit begins by examining the roles managers play and the functions managers perform. Particular attention is paid to how managers make decisions and how they manage competing demands for resources. The Unit then looks at the skills and competencies manager need to possess to effectively perform the role and how they can develop those skills and competencies.
