May has finished her Bachelor of Commerce in just two years. After completing her first-class honours in finance and economics, May has worked in investment banks as a security price analyst and mergers and acquisitions advisor. May has been teaching corporate finance, financial markets and MBA programs. She is an accredited HDR supervisor and has been supervising a number of HDR students. May has been a program director, project manager and HDR coordinator. Her research has won many awards and grants from academic and industry bodies.

Associate Professor May Hu has extensive experience working in universities and industries in accounting and finance areas. She has been program director, general manager and dean; as well as a member of TEQSA register of experts, and she has been on Academic Board, Course Advisory Committee, Teaching and Learning Committee and Industry Advisory Board. She has also served as a journal reviewer and guest editor, as well as independent director of multinational corporations in China.

Associate Professor Hu has a PhD from Massey University. Her research interests include corporate finance, corporate governance, financial economics, financial accounting, corporate innovation, earnings management, risk management, and international finance.
